Our fifth annual Earth Day Resolutions are:
1. Start composting
2. Hang a clothes line at our new house and line dry on sunny days
3. Bring a trash bag to the beach and on hikes and walks to pick up trash
Our ongoing attempts at being green:
1. Buying from local farmers and artists
2. Buy organic as often as possible
3. Question consumption!
4. Give our kids experiences and memories more than "stuff"
5. "No trash school lunches" - no more plastic bags or juice boxes
6. Using CFL lightbulbs
7. Trying to combine errands to avoid lots of trips into town
Changes we've already made over the last five years that we're proud of:
1. Using canvas bags at the grocery store
2. Washing laundry in cold water
3. Using only cloth napkins - no more paper ones
4. Switching to (mostly) green cleaning products (I can't give up Ajax!)
5. Buying in bulk to reduce packaging waste
6. Recycling (So easy here in Washington with curbside pickup!)
7. And of course, one family member's vegetarian diet for 29 years!
We still have a long ways to go, but small changes add up!!!!

Wow! Thanks for posting this, it gave me some good ideas to further our own green efforts. You are right, small changes start to add up.
Yeah! You guys inspire me. I think I'll start recycling today. Seriously, the bin is out in my garage somewhere. I'm going to go find it now. Miss you all!
Very inspiring!
