Afternoon at Lake Samish

This weekend we took advantage of some gorgeous fall weather and headed out to Lake Samish for a beautiful walk.

Of course, we couldn't get that close to a body of water without having the aqua-loving Ratchford kids beg to get in.  We agreed to rolled-up-pants-wading (it IS late September).

But then our little dare devil decided he just had to take a swim.  We didn't think he'd actually go through with it and gave in to his pleadings.  We should have known better.  He stripped down to his knickers and dove right in.
Nutcase.
He would have stayed in for hours, but as soon as the sun went behind the mountain, the temperature dropped 10 degrees and we made him get out. (Mean parents that we are.)
