One more catch-up post and then lots of Preston pictures on their way! (I'm trying to keep things in order. Since I'm a drop-out scrapbooker now, my blog is my scrapbook and journal and will eventually be printed out into a slacker's version of a family scrapbook.)
A few weeks ago on a day when Garreth had to work late and I had to get the kids out of the house or we'd all go insane, I took the kids to a local apple orchard. I was a little disappointed to find out that this farm wasn't one of the many "U-Pick" farms in our area, but they more than made up for that when they offered to let us drive one of their golf carts all around the orchards. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun.
There was also a pumpkin patch, but I refrained from buying any more pumpkins, since we had about twenty at home! (Mostly those mini ones, but still a lot! Sam has a thing for pumpkins!)
After our self-guided tour, we went into the shop where we got to sample all the different kinds of apples they grow, along with their homemade peanut butter and caramel sauce - yummy!
(Sidenote - I have tried more kinds of apples since living in Washington than I have my whole life. There are so many kinds I had never even heard of! My new favorites are Ambrosia and Jazz, with Honeycrisp at a close third!)
We left the farm with caramel apples for after dinner and a huge box of Fujis to take to Papa and Nana's house. And oh, did our van smell lovely the whole long way there!

They sell Honeycrisp apples here in Florida, but they are $3 a pound. I might have to buy one just to try it!
