Last week was a long one. Garreth was in Oklahoma for IMAT training and I am just no good without him. I hate when he has to travel! (Luckily for me, this job doesn't require much) This week was harder than usual, since I got sick, too. But enough of my pity party. He's home! I'm better! And we had a very fun valentine's week!
We made cookies.
The kids had fun making their valentines. Grace and I found a cute idea in a magazine for iPod valentines made from a box of conversation hearts and Reese's PB cups and we had fun making them. (Liam stuck with the store kind, which was a bit of a relief since Grace's took a long time!)
Grace said they were a big hit.
The school Valentine's parties were fun and they got lots of loot.
I had to get a close up of the goody bag Liam made at school. He is my little mama's boy.
On Valentine's Day, Garreth and I spent all day together in a foster care first aid training class and the kids spent it with their favorite babysitter. It was a long class, but since it was held in downtown Bellingham, we had some pretty sweet restaurants to choose from for our lunch break. It was fun to spend time alone together and we enjoyed a quiet lunch at a great little cafe. After a long week apart, it was fun to just be together... even if we were only resuscitating Annie.
When we got home, we had our annual Valentine's Day dinner with some good friends. Grace set a very fancy table complete with candles, which I (very uncharacteristically) forgot to take pictures of. We had a yummy spaghetti dinner, followed by our traditional chocolate fountain. It was a really fun night.
My favorite thing we did for Valentine's Day was this: on Family Night the week before, we all wrote down things we love about each other and put them in a jar, then read them all. With all the bickering that goes on around here, it was nice to see that they really do love each other! I want to remember the things they wrote, so I'm going to post them here.
