We have had a really fun week with Garreth's mom and sister!
We took them to a lot of our favorite spots, like Whatcom Falls Park.
Notice Liam's sad face in the above picture? Well, in case you are new to our blog, the kid is slightly mental. He is mad in this picture because we wouldn't let him cross that huge log, ten feet above a fast-moving creek and just yards away from a huge waterfall. Luckily, we found a two-by-four on the trail and a very shallow, gentle stretch of water, and Liam's very ingenius dad came up with a more suitable challenge.
Liam used the board to cross the river all on his own, by finding rocks to place the board on and balancing across it.
It was very Bear Grylls.
Made it!
The return journey.
Success!
A very pretty spectator.
Dinner later at Boomer's was apparently a very pleasant surprise for the two adventurers:
The next evening, we went down to the state park and built a fire on the beach to cook some grub.
Declan is a huge fan of smores.
Then it was time for some canoeing.
This post is becoming epic and I'm tired.
More fun pics coming soon!!
