First Football Game

Spring soccer has officially begun. All four of the kids love playing, so we signed them all up. This means pretty much saying goodbye to any free time we may have had for the next two months, since they are all on different teams.
4 kids
X 2 practices a week each
+ 4 games every Saturday =
crazy, busy, fun.
Since there is no such thing as "spring" in Rock Springs, it is usually cold and windy.

Grace has improved so much since fall season. She is a little more aggressive and confident and really loves her all-girl team. They play on a full-size pitch, which means lots of running. Her time on the swim team has really increased her endurance and we are so proud of the little athlete she is becoming.

Liam just really loves the sport. He does get a little bummed when he doesn't get to rotate in as goalie (his favorite position) and we are working on keeping a good attitude and sportsmanship! This is one kid who does not like to lose.

If I could describe Sam on the field in one word, it would be "joyful." Never have I seen a kid who is more happy to play. Seriously, the smile never leaves his face! He is so big for a 5 year old and is slowly getting more coordinated and less like a long-limbed baby giraffe. Every time he kicks the ball, he falls down on the ground dramatically, which is very entertaining to watch!

And Declan. Wow, this kid is just pure talent. This the first season he's been old enough to play on a team and he was so excited to join his brothers and sister as a "real" soccer player. Very first game, he gets to kick off at the beginning. He kicks off, dribbles the ball down the field past the other kids, and scores. Unbelievable. Like Sam, the smile never leaves his face. I can't wait to see how this little man's soccer career turns out!

Despite all its' craziness, I LOVE soccer season!

Yep, we're in above our heads with soccer too. And there is NOTHING I'd rather be doing! It's so much fun to watch the kids do something they love. Even when it's snowing, and blowing, and freezing......
