Misc. Summer

Here are a few more random things we did this summer:

We loved on our sweet dog.

We made music videos.

Sam did a week-long Pirate Camp and had a blast.

Grace counted down the days to sixth grade, and got a little excited about organizing her school supplies. (No idea where she gets that from! :)

We bought Bear Lake raspberries and made jam.

We had a great time every week with our summer movie passes. For $35 the entire summer, we got to go to a matinee every Thursday afternoon.

Grace and Liam made a stand and sold lemonade, cookies, homemade dog treats, otter pops, bookmarks, cards, and magnets. When business was slow, Liam would plug in his ipod, take the poster in his hands, stand on the corner, and dance to attract customers. I predict a future at Little Caesars for him.

I had the genius idea to have the kids wash the van. This will definitely happen often - they had a great time and it kept them busy all morning while I cleaned out the garage.

I found a great homemade playdough recipe that uses Koolaid and the kids each made a batch. It was great until Nacho jumped onto the table and ate Grace's entire batch. Of RED playdough. Let's just say it didn't end well. I understand the phrase "sick as a dog" all too well now.

We made Grace a new batch and had a playdough creation contest. They each won an Oreo as a prize.

The last day of summer before Labor Day weekend, we played with shaving cream. This has become a new summer tradition and it's fun for all of us. The kids get in their swimsuits and I spray shaving cream all over them and the trampoline. They play for hours in it, then I hose them down and call it their nightly bath. It's good for me and them! Plus, they smell heavenly the rest of the night!
