On Monday we went to the Northwest Washington County Fair and had so much fun. There was so much to see and do!
We ate yummy fair food.
We saw lots of cows! In one section of the cow barn, they had a "Maternity Ward," where they had several cows that were due this week. The highlight of our whole trip was getting to see a brand-new calf, just minutes old. We missed the actual birth, but got there in time to see her deliver the afterbirth (very lovely). We stayed there for a long time and watched the mom lick her baby clean and then even got to see the calf try to take his first steps. It was VERY cool.
I love this picture of Declan because he's wearing the classic "Declan expression." What a sweet kid!
We saw llamas...
...lots of chickens....
...even some alpaca. (Grace and Liam did not want to turn their backs on this one for a picture because they thought they'd get spit on.) We also got to watch some women spinning wool into yarn and weaving it onto a loom.
No caption needed here. We looked for Wilbur and Charlotte but they were no where to be seen.
Grace's favorite part was watching the 4-Hers show their dogs. You can just see the wheels turning in her head in this picture, trying to figure out how she can talk us into letting her do this.
In the draft horse barn, aka "Papa Heaven."
And at the carnival:
What a fun night!
