This month:
Grace had a big 4th grade biography project, and the kids could choose whoever they wanted to study, write a report about, and present an oral report to the class. Who did the other girls choose to study you may ask? Well, Julia Roberts was one. Hannah Montana AND Miley Cyrus were both represented. And my favorite: Priscilla Presley. (What the?!)
We were super-proud that our daughter picked someone truly worth learning about:
Doesn't she make a lovely little Jane Goodall?
The kids had fun celebrating Valentine's Day at school, but Sam was the only one whose day I remembered to document.
When these three boys are not too busy beating the snot out of each other, they can occasionally be found doing really cute things together:
Sam's preschool took a fun field trip to the Children's Museum in Bellingham.
(Just a disclaimer about the following picture. I did not notice its' suggestive nature until I dumped all the pics onto the computer. I promise. But it is kind of funny, right?)
And I leave you with a scenic shot.
It's not a great picture, but our area is on a migratory route for trumpeter swans, and in January and February while we're driving around, we'll come across flocks of them in a random field. Once I saw a flock of over 150 and had to stop the van. Wish I'd have had my camera with me that day. It was pretty spectacular.
And speaking of wildlife, I don't remember ever seeing a coyote before (although I'm sure I must have - I'm from Idaho, for crying out loud), but in the last month I've spotted about ten of them. One of them was running down the street in our neighborhood. Pretty freaky. Some nights their howling actually wakes us up. I don't know what's up with them, but it's pretty darn Laura Ingalls Wilder-ish around here these days.

Wow, that's kind of scary about the coyotes! Maybe I need to keep a better eye on my kids when they're playing outside the house!
One year we had signs up all over saying not to let your pets out alone at night. Pretty crazy
I am so proud of Grace! Way to go, Jane!
Priscilla Presley? Good job Grace, she's also a favorite of Lindsey's.
Glad to hear that the pork chops were a hit and you are so right about the faces John Mayer makes when singing...some of them were downright bizarre.
