This week, we pulled the kids out of school and went on an awesome overnight trip to Great Wolf Lodge.
Once we checked in to our room, it didn't take long for these daredevils to conjure up some danger.
What a great place! You really can't go wrong with an indoor waterpark in a hotel. It was kid paradise.
We had fun exploring the lodge. It was awesome to see so many happy kids and parents running around, some in pj's and some in swimsuits, all having so much fun.
In the gift shop, Sam found a rare piece of art featuring his two favorite things of all time, horses and candy. It was definitely worth taking a picture of.
We got there around five and squeezed in a few hours of swimming before bed, then woke up and spent another full day at the waterpark before heading for home.
One of the kids' favorite parts was a gigantic bucket that would fill up with water, then dump down on everybody. Here are Grace and Liam laying down, waiting to get drenched...
... and here's the drenching that followed.
We knew there was no one way to have a really good time with all five kids, so Evan went to a sleepover at his old foster family's house, and boy, were we glad we didn't try to bring him. There were lots of people there and it was hard enough to keep track of the other four!
There were six big waterslides there and I didn't get any pictures, but we were so proud of Grace, Liam, and Sam, who went down every single one. If Declan had been tall enough, I know he would have gone, too!
It was a very perfect little family get-away and we had so much fun! But, boy, did it wear us out! Here we are leaving for home... still in the parking lot of the lodge!
