I'm so glad when Daddy comes home

We are adjusting to our new temporary routine of Garreth living three nights at home and four nights in Wyoming. (And I tell you what, this single mom stuff just isn't for me.)

During the week we stay busy with school:

and sports.
Grace loves volleyball and is really good.

At last night's game, she won the "Stuffed Animal Award," which the coaches give for team spirit and for playing your best. Above, she is blindfolded and reaching in for her prize.

I love watching her play, even though a lot of my time is actually spent trying to keep these three monkeys out of trouble.
Not having come from a very athletic family, I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I love watching my kids play sports. I thoroughly enjoy days at the soccer field and the gym, and I love watching the kids enjoy themselves so much and improve at their game. Liam scored his first goal in soccer last week and I thought Garreth was going to burst with pride!

I'm glad we are able to stay busy while he's away. I was even talked into a trip to Chuck E. Cheese:

And late every Thursday night, the man of the house comes home and we spend a great weekend all together. Here are some pictures from a walk down to the beach with Sam and Declan.

Oh man Erin, you're my hero, doing the single mom thing. I hate that. Hang in there.
