Rock of Cashel and Hore Abbey

On the way from Blarney back to Dublin, we stopped in Cashel to see these amazing places:
The Rock of Cashel
and Hore Abbey.
The Rock of Cashel is on the hill above the Abbey so they had great views of each other.

Hore Abbey was founded in 1272 and is exceptionally beautiful, but to the Ratchford boys, it was just another place to climb and jump!

Rock of Cashel. This place was a fortress as far back as 360 A.D. and St. Patrick baptized King Aengus there in 448. That is some serious history there.

Soon it was time to go back to Dublin.
The kids were excited that we got to see a rainbow on our last night in Ireland.
We got to Dublin Sunday evening, spent the night at Stephen and Ciara's house, and caught our flight back home Monday morning. It was a long and exhausting day of traveling. We got into Salt Lake at 10 pm and to Rock Springs at 2 am. Poor Garreth had to work the next morning!

It was definitely not always easy to travel with four kids overseas, but I am so happy that we decided to bring them all and that we were financially able to do it. Garreth and I decided early on that the best gift we can give our kids is to travel together as a family, and we realize how lucky we are to be able to!

It was an awesome experience for all of us!
