We had fun at Garreth's birthday dinner at Kyoto. It has turned into tradition, since he has chosen a Japanese steakhouse every year for about five years now!
The kids stayed entertained watching our dinner being cooked at the table.
Then it was home for banana cream pie...
... and presents! He got a mini-fridge for his office (I know, I lack imagination) and private guitar lessons (a little more fun). Grace also gave him a coupon for a copy of the novel she is writing called "Wildlife." (Coming soon to a bookstore near you) He also liked the Irish candy bars we gave him (which really aren't the novelty they used to be now that we live on the Canadian border and can get them more easily, but oh well!) It was a fun night!
Happy birthday! We love you!

Grace seems to be so creative and fun! I'm sure she's an amazing big sister.
This was the first Christmas EVER that Derrick wasn't surprised at all. I ran out of imagination this year, and I'm not sure where I can get some more.
Crunchie bars are the best. I got so addicted to them when I was in England, I mean Ireland.
I love Japanese steak houses and Wunderbars. They're my fav! I think I'll invite myself to Garreth's next birthday party.
