Birch Bay Polar Bear Swim

After watching the annual Polar Bear Swim last year, Garreth was inspired.  After having done it in both Finland and Alaska, how bad could it be?  He just needed a companion, and after I told him to get lost, he turned to his number one fan Liam, who eagerly agreed.
There were hundreds of people there - more people than last year, but the costumes weren't as great.  Garreth's short shorts and lovely Irish legs pretty much stole the show.
Here's Liam after the plunge, and still smiling.  What a fun kid.
No, we didn't decide to just go ahead and baptize Liam while we were at it.  Garreth wanted Liam to go back in for a photo, and Liam very wisely told him "no way."  So Garreth carried him back out, all in the name of a photo op.
Crazy, crazy boys.

The coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Beyond the fact that Garreth looks like he dances for Lady Ga Ga.

Liam is my hero.

It is just not right for a grown man to wear shorts that short.

This kills me! And you're right...Garreth's Irish legs and outfit do steel the show.

Garreth, this picture reminds me of the time i was kidnaped by alaskan dream catcher type guys..the one on your left with the hunting jacket espicially,he looks like he's trying to unearth a piece of wilderbeast from his larry duffy jaw...fetching shorts by the way...Erin..you should have more control...

These two boys look pretty crazy, but... not as crazy as the guy I was standing next to - He decided to go buck naked. I had Lucas and Sunny with me, so I spent most the time trying to distract them from the nakedness. I successfully protected Sunny, but Lucas got a full view. He was so unimpressed. He just had this look on his face like "Why would he do that???"
I must've been down the beach aways from you folks. It was a fun event, eh?
