Oh, how we've been blessed this week by the sun! January in Washington has just not been it's normally depressing self! The three little boys and Nacho and I took advantage of a sunny morning by going to one of our favorite spots.
We started down our usual trail past the falls...
...only to be stopped by orange cones and a very nice man in a construction vest, who told us that the trail was closed for tree removal. And what a tree it was! We had to stop and watch, and it was so amazing.
You can't really see him in these pictures, but this guy was WAY up there.
I could have watched for an hour, but the boys' attention spans...
...lasted only until Declan was reminded of the huge concrete flume that flows down the mountain, you know, the one that he dreams about riding down like a waterslide.
After dreaming about how fun and dangerous that ride would be, we headed off in a new direction, on a trail that we hadn't been on before, and we discovered this beautiful little spot.
And the rock-throwing began. (Always with the rock-throwing!)
And bull-riding. (Always with the bull riding!)
After the little legs had had enough walking, we headed back to the playground.
What a lovely morning it was.
And now that the rain has begun again, that week of sunshine (and the promise of more to come) might just get us through this winter!

What a great little spot you found! I am sure the boys slept well that night! I love the picture of the bull riding and the one of sam in the metal tube thing at the park. What a funny kid. Love you guys!
Wow, that is January where you are? No snow or smog? Lucky. Looks beautiful.
Lovely! Isn't it funny what a huge deal it is when the sun is shining?!?! If the sun shows up around here, I demand that the girls play outside!
I love it when the weather cooperates in January, we were able to get out and enjoy bikes and scooters the other day. Your scenery looks more fun though.

Everyone around here has been in depression because of the nasty inversions of late. I'm so jealous that your experiencing sun! We finally got some snow though. Something we've been wanting. I figure if it's going to be cold we might as well enjoy some snow fun. Right?
What a beautiful place. I wish we could get outside more! Having a newborn and being stuck inside is making us go a little crazy some days!
It is so beautiful there!!! You're lucky you get to be outside!!
