A sequence of photos I just discovered on my phone...

Sam: taking hilarious pictures
Hyper-vigilant policeman-like Liam walks by, notices mentioned hilarious picture taking
Liam: "Hmmm, I don't like this. I don't like this one bit."
Sam: still taking hilarious photos, oblivious to concerned brother's thoughts
Liam: "I feel it is my duty to say something. This has to stop immediately."
Sam: still obliviously taking pictures
Liam: "That's it - I really need to end this right now" "Sam! You need to stop taking pictures on Mom's phone!"
Sam: still oblivious. Self photos are just too funny.
Liam (anger escalating): "Sam! Seriously! You better stop or I'm telling Mom!"
Sam: completely ignorant

I wish I knew how this little encounter ended. No, wait. It probably ended up with someone getting punched. Never mind.

Last days of spring break

More shore time.

Easter egg hunt.
Gabe's treasure was two of Nacho's tennis balls!

Exploring the trail that starts right by our house.

And one more glorious trip to Seal Rock Beach.

On our last night, Oregon decided to give us a big send-off in the form of a giant rainbow right in front of the house,

and one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen.

We had such a great time. How lucky we were to spend time with so many people we love in such a beautiful corner of the world.

A little more Oregon

After four great days with the Brandts, we said goodbye and went to meet up with some good friends from Birch Bay, or as the kids call them "our other cousins."

Sam and Josie, aka "Oil and Water." These two have always had a complicated love/hate relationship and as long as we keep them super busy and active, things stay fairly level. But, oh, how the sparks can fly between these two!
No trip to the Oregon coast is complete without a visit to the Sea Lion Caves.

Then it was on to lunch in Florence, with a yummy stop at BJ's Ice Cream.

Then it was on to a hike to the Heceta lighthouse, which sadly, was covered up for renovations. But the hike was beautiful and we even found some little side trails to take us further up the mountain.

Grace, Garreth, and I were thrilled to be reunited with our BFFs.

Nature Boy Sam, reflecting and enjoying.

Liam found a best buddy in Emmett, who was a little obsessed with him. So adorable.

Beautiful day.
