Grace Harbor Farm

The kids have half days of school all this week for parent teacher conferences and we are planning some fun afternoon outings.  Today we went to Grace Harbor Farms with our friends.  First we went to the farm store to taste test their goat cheese (very yummy) and try their soaps and lotions (seemed yummy, too, until my hands broke out in some crazy rash.  Seems my skin is allergic to goat milk, which is okay as long as my stomach isn't.  I love the stuff.) 

We got to peek in the incubator where baby chickens and turkeys were about to hatch, and saw two baby turkeys still under their heating lamp.  After buying some of the goods, we headed outside, where the nice owner let us walk around and see the animals.  

How could I resist the photo op of Grace and her best friend Grace beside a sign that says "Grace" on it?  

Sam got to love on a few horses and was in heaven.  He is a cowboy at heart.  He told me afterwards that he wishes he could just "get on the black horse and ride it to the Preston Rodeo."

Liam very bravely posed by the chicken coop, even after two loose chickens got scared by the barn cat and flew up in our faces.

Our favorite part?  Feeding the goats who gave us the cheese we just bought.

And the outing was complete after local dairy ice cream at the Lynden Chocolate Store.  

Good times.
